2026 Libertarian Party WA Annual General Meeting
Join us for the 2026 WA AGM
It’s been a busy year for the Libertarian Party in WA.
We’ve grown the party, launched Young Libertarians, contested an election, expanded our public presence and been working behind the scenes on a new Constitution for the Libertarian Party WA.
The AGM is our chance to get everyone together, celebrate what we’ve achieved, be honest about where we fell short, and decide what comes next.
You don't need to be a member to attend. Whether you're an active member, haven't been to a party event before, or are simply curious about libertarian ideas and want to meet some like-minded people, we'd love to have you there.'
Guest Speaker: Professor Augusto Zimmermann
When is it right to disobey the law?

Professor Augusto Zimmermann, Professor of Law and former WA Law Reform Commissioner, will be joining us in person to introduce the newly expanded second edition of his book, The Legal Right to Disobey Law: A Natural Law Approach to Free Speech and Civil Disobedience.
The first edition, released in June, sold out in less than 90 days, with the expanded second edition launching in Perth just days before our AGM.
The book tackles a fascinating question: if a government passes a profoundly unjust law, are citizens always morally and legally obliged to obey it?
Augusto will give us an introduction to the ideas behind the book, followed by an opportunity for questions. He’ll also have copies available to purchase and sign at the AGM.
And if one Zimmermann book isn't enough, we're also giving away a copy of his previous book, Against Tyranny, as one of our door prizes.
What to Expect
We'll look back at the past 12 months and report on the state of the WA division.
We'll also look forward — introducing Vision 35, discussing our priorities and strategy as we build towards the 2028 State Election, presenting the new Libertarian Party WA Constitution, and electing the next WA State Executive.
Members will have an opportunity to ask questions, raise General Business and have their say on the direction of the party.
Have Your Say
There are two ways members can get involved before the meeting:
-
Nominate for the WA State Executive
Nominations are open for President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Executive Member and other Executive positions.
-
Put something before the AGM
Members can submit General Business, motions and Special Resolutions for consideration at the meeting.
Both nominations and submissions close at 11:59pm on Saturday, 17 October 2026.
Completed forms should be sent to [email protected].
Every Executive nomination requires a nominator and seconder, and every agenda item requires a mover and seconder. Everyone involved must have been continuously financial members since 30 April 2026 or earlier.
Food, Door Prizes & Raffle
It won't all be reports and constitutional amendments.
We'll have food, tea and coffee provided, along with door prizes and a raffle throughout the afternoon.
There'll also be plenty of time to catch up, meet the Executive and get to know some of the other interesting people joining us on the day.
